The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and the Copelouzos Group announce the signing of an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of research and education focusing on the Energy sector. The aim of the MoU is to strengthen the cooperation between the Greek industry and the academic community, to promote research and innovation, with the aim of economic and technological development, as well as the achievement of sustainability goals.

Through their cooperation, the NTUA and the Copelouzos Group will exchange know-how and aim to develop innovative technologies, with the aim of promoting and creating tools that will provide solutions to the problems and challenges facing the energy sector at an international level.

The two parties are committed to creating a direct bridge for the transfer of know-how and innovation, in order to help accelerate the energy transition and achieve the climate objectives of the European Green Deal.

On the MoU, the Rector of the NTUA Prof. Chatjigeorgiou K. Ioannis stated:

“The cooperation agreement between NTUA and the Copelouzos Group has a multifaceted educational and research focus which also draws from the Group’s prominent position in the Energy sector. It is part of the broader and systematic effort of the NTUA to support its students and young researchers, aiming at the effective interaction of the University with industry and businesses, aspiring to become a catalyst and pilot of similar actions that will contribute greatly to the utilization and retention of the scientific potential in combination with the staffing of businesses, serving the development of our Country”.

For his part, Mr. Christos Copelouzos, Group CEO, stated:

“At the Copelouzos Group, for fifty years we have been creating national infrastructure and energy projects that support the Greek economy, strengthening the Country’s competitiveness and contributing to the pluralism of the European energy system. Today we are taking another step in this direction by supporting the young engineers of the National Technical University of Athens, with the certainty that the connection of entrepreneurship with the academic community will create innovative and useful tools for the benefit of Greek and European industry. The energy transition and the challenges of our time require all of us to take bold steps forward, with confidence in what we have achieved so far but also with faith in the many and important items I am sure we will achieve in the near future.”
